Policemen ambushed and shot in Lluidas Vale

Amid the announcement of reduction in crime in the St Catherine North Division by Minister of National Security Horace Chang, two policemen were shot the community of Lluidas Vale.

The STAR was told that at about 3:10 yesterday morning, two policemen from the Shady Grove Police Station responded to a robbery call in the Union Square area.

When the lawmen arrived, they were ambushed by gunmen and a gun battle ensued.

One of the policemen was grazed by a bullet, treated and sent home, while the other, who was shot in the leg, remains in hospital. The gunmen escaped.

The Corporate Communications Unit has confirmed the reports and said that an investigation is ongoing.
