Early-morning quake rattles Kingston and St Andrew

Residents in Kingston and St Andrew got a sudden shake-up this morning when a minor earthquake rattled parts of the Corporate Area before daybreak.

The Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona, reported that the 3.6-magnitude quake struck at 3:47 a.m., with a focal depth of 17 kilometres. The epicentre was pinpointed about five kilometres northeast of Gordon Town, St Andrew.
