July 10, 2026

A woman who was reportedly on her way to a police station to report an ongoing dispute allegedly found herself staring down the barrels of two guns after three people, including a woman she was planning to report, allegedly ambushed her in Central Village, St Catherine.

Charged are 22-year-old Nakadia Wedderman of Central Village, 27-year-old Damani Brown and 30-year-old Shamar Brown, both of Big Lane, Central Village.

The trio was charged on Thursday, July 9, with possession of a prohibited weapon and assault at common law.

According to investigators, about 1 p.m. on July 6, the complainant, who had reportedly been involved in a previous dispute with Wedderman, was walking to the Central Village Police Station to make a formal report.

Police allege that before she could reach the station, she was confronted by the accused.

The two male accused allegedly arrived in a motor vehicle, pointed firearms at the complainant and threatened her before driving away with Wedderman.

The shaken woman later reported the incident to the police, prompting an investigation.

The three suspects were subsequently pointed out to investigators, arrested and charged.

A court date is being finalised.
