Police and firefighters respond to security threat reported at school in Portland

February 02, 2026

Police and fire personnel were deployed to Portland High School on Monday after a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of students and staff and the suspension of classes.

The threat was reported shortly after 8 a.m. at the Boundbrook-based Seventh-day Adventist-operated institution in eastern Portland.

According to reports, the threat was made via an anonymous telephone call, which led school officials to activate the emergency alarm system and evacuate the campus.

Students and teachers were seen leaving the rural-based school compound as emergency protocols were implemented.

Fire personnel and police remain at the location. The surrounding area has been cordoned off while security checks and investigations continue.

The incident follows a similar bomb threat last Friday that disrupted classes at nearby Port Antonio High School.
